About The Position

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be able to take and follow direction. 2. Maintain appearance per employee Handbook and client location standards. 3. Ability to communicate effectively in written format 4. Ability to multi-task and establish priorities as required for adequate job performance 5. Stand for extended periods of time. 6. Possess and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures 9. Ability to use knowledge and experience of a working environment to meet established goals and objectives 10. Physically able to lift, push, pull, bend, kneel, twist, and move rolling carts (up to 600+ lbs.) throughout the day, with ability to load linen above one’s head and from ground level to standing upright. 11. Physically able to collect and lift soiled bags throughout the facility. 12. Pack at a speed to complete 20+ exchange carts per day. 13. Distinguish between different linen items through touch and vision. 14. Able to complete duties accurately. 15. Must be able to read and write English and accurately perform simple mathematics 16. Must be punctual. 17. Must understand and observe all safety guidelines and recommendations. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Reports to the Regional Distribution Manager 2. Complies with HLSG Linen Distribution policies and procedures 3. Assigns duties as required and delegates distribution staff as necessary 4. Plans and schedules receiving, recording, distribution, and collection of workflow 5. Oversees housekeeping and general cleanliness of the linen room and associated work areas 6. Performs general and spot inspections as required of laundered articles to assure compliance with OSHA and JCAHO recommendations and requirements 7. Maintains records for department attendance, production efficiencies, linen tracking, etc. 8. Contacts departments in the hospital to obtain feedback and information regarding linen services 9. Participates in the linen committees as necessary 10. Interviews new employees and directs their orientation and training as required 11. Provides services as needed to departments with special requirements 12. Reports overuse, abuse, or misuse of linens, to include recommended actions to management and hospital contacts as necessary 13. Covers for distribution personnel as necessary due to absenteeism, vacation, sick, etc. in order to meet facility needs 14. Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership 15. Delivers clean linen cart to all units 16. Builds carts for the following day 17. Count and pack carts accurately with the needed quantities 18. Fill out all necessary paperwork accurately 19. Collect soiled linen from designated areas and set times 20. Accomplish daily tasks at the time given by Management 21. Submits linen orders and communicate with CSM with any needs 22. Onsite Linen Distribution/Utilization Manager – Responsible for linen operations/utilization and managing 20+ employees, including three shift supervisors. MINIMUM STANDARDS: 1. Communicate with the Management with any problems, concerns and discrepancies, as needed, WITH NO EXCEPTIONS. 2. Observe established safety guidelines and wear safety equipment/protective gear when required, WITH NO EXCEPTIONS.
