Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • 1 year of housekeeping or linen experience within a healthcare setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to coordinate work schedules and effectively utilize manpower to accomplish required tasks and projects
  • Ability to apply judgment and make sound decisions
  • Ability to balance a hectic workload and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to pay strong attention to details
  • Ability to identify problems, brainstorm possible solutions, communicate and act quickly, solve the problem, and prevent the problem from recurring
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and computer applications

Responsibilities

  • Engage in continuous evaluation and enhancement of care and service quality.
  • Oversee daily organizational operations and manage linen department activities to maintain linen quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and submit daily linen orders to the processing plant.
  • Prepare and distribute month-end linen usage reports to management.
  • Manage cost-effective linen allocation throughout the facility, providing detailed monthly cost-analysis reports.
  • Enforce work rules consistently and equitably.
  • Clearly communicate and enforce policies and assignments with accountability.
  • Assume department head responsibilities in the absence of Facilities Management Operations.
  • Conduct timely and equitable quality improvement inspections monthly.
  • Interface with internal and external customer groups, offering personalized attention and responding promptly to needs and requests.
  • Support and embody the philosophy of family-centered care.
  • Educate employees on departmental goals and responsibilities, clarifying their roles.
  • Stay visible and available to staff, actively engaging, offering support, addressing concerns, and recommending improvements.
  • Evaluate workloads, organize job schedules, assignments, and procedures efficiently.
  • Remove obstacles or escalate issues to appropriate leaders.
  • Follow up on reported problems and complaints, identify root causes, and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Evaluate employee performance and conduct timely annual reviews.
  • Meet all in-service requirements.
  • Must have reliable transportation for facility movement.
  • Capable of creating, analyzing, and interpreting data effectively.
