Under general supervision, the Linen Distribution Worker collects soiled linen from user area soiled linen utility rooms and transports soiled linen carts to a primary hold area. They transport clean linen to user areas on a route scheduled basis, stocking and restocking as required. The role also involves assisting truck drivers with the loading of soiled linen carts and unloading of clean linen carts. The worker interacts with user area nursing staff to resolve routine linen-related problems and keeps the department Leader or Supervisor advised of any reported linen issues. Maintaining the neatness and cleanliness of clean and soiled user area utility rooms is also a key responsibility. The position performs other duties as assigned by the department Supervisor and is responsible for the proper performance of assigned duties under general supervision, including the attainment and maintenance of production and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Collects soiled linen from user area soiled linen utility rooms and transports soiled linen carts to primary hold area.
  • Transports clean linen to user areas on a route scheduled basis.
  • Stocks and restocks clean linen as required.
  • Assists truck driver with the loading of soiled linen carts and unloading of clean linen carts.
  • Interacts with user area nursing staff to resolve routine related problems.
  • Keeps department Leader or Supervisor advised of any reported linen problems.
  • Maintains neatness and cleanliness of clean and soiled user area utility rooms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by department Supervisor.
