About The Position

The Lineman plays a critical role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This position involves working at heights and in various weather conditions to install, maintain, and troubleshoot overhead and underground power lines. The Lineman must adhere to strict safety protocols to protect themselves, their team, and the public while performing physically demanding tasks. Collaboration with other utility workers and effective communication are essential to coordinate work and respond promptly to power outages or emergencies. Ultimately, the Lineman contributes to the stability and efficiency of the electrical grid, supporting community infrastructure and daily life.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass physical fitness and climbing tests.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with both overhead and underground electrical systems.
• Familiarity with utility-grade equipment such as bucket trucks and digger derricks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Previous experience working in a utility or electrical construction environment.
• Must have a CDL
• Not required but preferred to have ARC flash training.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical power lines and related equipment.
• Inspect power lines and electrical systems to identify issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Respond to emergency outages and service interruptions, working extended hours as needed to restore power.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies to minimize risk and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and ensure project completion.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required for line work.
