About The Position

The Linehaul Supervisor at Daylight Transport, LLC is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Linehaul department, ensuring the timely movement of scheduled freight. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, supervising staff, and providing operational leadership to maintain compliance with company policies and enhance service delivery.

Requirements

• Five years of management experience required, with procurement experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement.
• Experience in developing, mentoring, and managing a large, geographically divided network.
• Deep understanding of operations principles and best practices in the LTL industry and general business.
• High School education required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic communications and Internet tools, including operations software and general business software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily/nightly operations with cross-functional teams regarding freight movement.
• Communicate assignments between Linehaul schedulers and transportation providers.
• Supervise the Linehaul operation and its staff, providing feedback on compliance with policies.
• Direct the work of Linehaul planners and clerical staff, ensuring adequate coverage of administrative functions.
• Monitor and audit the delivery of customer service upgrades through clerical staff.
• Coordinate Linehaul activities to optimize equipment and personnel utilization while minimizing costs.
• Track freight forecasts and purchase transportation to ensure same-day shipping of LTL freight.
• Monitor department performance metrics including cost and on-time performance.
• Perform disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Execute linehaul schedules and assist with driver-to-load assignments.
• Prioritize loads for optimal arrival patterns at destinations.
• Assist in the interviewing and selection of Linehaul Drivers and clerical associates.
• Ensure proper timekeeping for clerical associates.
