About The Position

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking an experienced Linear Accelerator Engineer to join our growing Radiation Oncology team. Fetch operates two state-of-the-art Varian TrueBeam systems — located in Bonita Springs and Brandon, Florida — providing advanced radiation therapy to veterinary cancer patients across the Southeast. The ideal candidate is a technically skilled, self-driven professional with hands-on experience in Varian linear accelerators, GE CT simulators, and related networking and IT systems. This role ensures optimal uptime, precision calibration, and seamless integration across Fetch’s radiation oncology departments, working closely with our physicists, oncologists, and hospital engineers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience servicing Varian linear accelerators (TrueBeam, Trilogy, or comparable systems).
  • Working knowledge of GE CT systems, Mosaiq, and DICOM networking protocols.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with radiation therapy workflows and clinical operations.
  • Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Varian service software and Elekta Mosaiq integration preferred.
  • IT/networking proficiency (firewalls, switches, IP configurations, and VPN access).
  • Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and acceptance testing.
  • Ability to travel between Bonita Springs and Brandon facilities as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Varian service software and Elekta Mosaiq integration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration on Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators and supporting systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) and performance verification in coordination with the medical physics team to ensure treatment accuracy and compliance.
  • Service and maintain GE CT simulation systems, including image calibration, software upgrades, and QA testing.
  • Support networking and DICOM integration between treatment planning, Mosaiq record-and-verify systems, and CT/treatment devices.
  • Collaborate with vendors, IT, and clinical teams on upgrades, installations, and emergency service events.
  • Maintain detailed service documentation, QA records, and compliance with Fetch, state, and federal regulations.
