About The Position

The Line Technician ensures efficient day-to-day operation for all mechanical components of production lines and plant facilities assigned to ensure a safe and efficient operation meeting customer demand on a timely basis. Mechanical knowledge in multi crafts for all mechanical production line maintenance. The key responsibilities tied to the position are shown below, but not limited to only the following: DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs daily shut down, start up and changeover of all production lines. Operates equipment requiring the use of hand and power tools as well as the necessary skills in such trades as trouble shoot production lines using written or verbal instructions. This work includes such duties as: Assembles, dismantles, installs, sets up equipment for all production and miscellaneous equipment. Works from written or verbal instructions. Determines necessary materials, tools, personnel and instructions to complete assigned projects. Makes decisions as necessary repairs to equipment. Checks the operation of services, equipment and assembly for proper performance adherence to specifications, proper operation, and checks for leaks and other faulty conditions. Performs preventive maintenance as required. Performs mechanical maintenance work as required, using hand and power trucks, in conjunction with maintenance work. Must have necessary skills in such trades as set up and repair of production equipment. Determines necessary materials, tools, personnel and instruction to complete assigned projects. Make decisions as to necessary repairs to equipment. Disassemble/assembles piping and production equipment to find and correct sources of operational difficulties. Performs mechanical maintenance work as required using hand and power tools and trucks, manlifts, work savers. Works to perform all flushing of product lines and assisting machine operator in change over procedures. Assists in minor electrical repair on motorized equipment of production lines. Use a wide variety of plant equipment when necessary to assist in job completion. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a certified forklift operator and able to operate elevated lifts.
  • Ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
  • Understand written and verbal work instructions.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude to operate machines responsibly in a safe and efficient manner and make complex repairs and adjustments as required.
  • Good judgment and decision making, able to work independently or in team environment.
  • Required to successfully pass a mechanical aptitude test
