About The Position

Mission Pharmacal Company is seeking a LINE OPERATOR to join our team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Boerne, TX. The LINE OPERATOR will tend to machines that perform one or more packaging functions such as filling, coding, labeling, capping, sealing, packing, or wrapping containers and will monitor the quality of the packaged product. This role involves verifying all supplies and components by control/part number and quantity per specifications prior to running the lot, starting the machine, and observing its operation to detect malfunctions. The operator will also assist in repairs as required, perform set-ups of the workstation, and ensure that each product is packaged according to specifications and standard operating procedures. After completing each lot of product, the operator will clean the equipment per standard operating procedures and perform hand packaging and sorting as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Tend to machines that perform packaging functions such as filling, coding, labeling, capping, sealing, packing, or wrapping containers.
  • Monitor the quality of packaged product.
  • Verify all supplies and components by control/part number and quantity per specifications prior to running the lot.
  • Start machine and observe operation to detect malfunctions prior to the start of the lot.
  • Stop machine and report malfunction to Line Lead; assist in repairs as required.
  • Perform set-ups of workstation, following standard operating procedures while reassembling and cleaning hardware.
  • Ensure each product is packaged according to specifications and standard operating procedures.
  • Feed product and packaging components to conveyors or other feeding devices; palletize finished product.
  • Secure finished product for transportation to the distribution center.
  • Replenish packaging supplies per workstation as required.
  • Clean the equipment per standard operating procedures after completion of each lot of product.
  • Perform hand packaging and sorting as required.
  • Count rejects, finished product, and unused packaging components to be returned to the warehouse.
