About The Position

We’re seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our Shepparton Cans Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a day shift, working 7am – 3pm. Reporting to the Shift Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely. Operating can forming and welding machinery to meet production, service, and quality standards for the manufacture of food cans. Troubleshooting and dealing with production issues, alongside maintenance team. Assist in welding, forming and palletising machine setups, dismantling and job changeover tasks for a production run. Perform quality inspection checks and other procedural checks to ensure the best quality is delivered to our customers. Maintain safe work and operating practices, and a high level of housekeeping. Requirements

  • Experience within Can making or double seeming experience highly regarded.
  • Previous operations experience in a canning or high-speed environment also highly regarded.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required, Certificate III qualification beneficial.
  • Confident in working with hand tools and to fine detail when setting up machinery.
  • Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure and display a good eye for detail particularly in quality control.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.
