About The Position

The Line Mechanic is responsible for setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and plant support equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of packaging or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of electricity and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform line changeovers and machine setups on packaging equipment.
  • Set up and adjust semi-automatic and automatic packaging machinery including:
  • Fillers
  • Cappers
  • Coders
  • Cartoners
  • Labelers
  • Wrappers and bundlers
  • Case sealers
  • Conveyors
  • Rotary press equipment
  • Work from manuals, drawings, diagrams, and electrical prints.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on equipment issues.
  • Fabricate or modify machine parts as needed to support production.
  • Develop and build jigs or fixtures to improve packaging operations.
  • Operate shop equipment such as:
  • Lathe
  • Vertical mill
  • Welder
  • Manufacture or repair machine components.
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical maintenance including:
  • Installation
  • Overhaul
  • Tear-down and rebuild
  • Preventive maintenance (oiling, greasing, inspections)
  • Maintain pumps, mixers, compounding equipment, and material handling systems.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, Lockout/Tagout procedures, Quality and Safety systems.
  • Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in training mechanics and helpers.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with approved vendors for parts and service (with management authorization).
  • May dispose of hazardous waste when properly trained.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
