Line Mechanic L2 - 3rd Shift

About The Position

The Line Mechanic position reports to the Maintenance Team Lead and is responsible for a variety of tasks including troubleshooting, line repairs, parts replacement, completing work orders, participation in PM's, cleaning and lubricating equipment according to pre-set standards, and performing teardowns and set-up of equipment. The role requires observing all safety regulations and ensuring GMP and quality standards are met to maintain the efficient flow of production. A sound mechanical background is required to understand the theory of operation for all equipment. The starting pay is up to $26.48 per hour, with an additional attendance bonus of $0.70 per hour for the 3rd shift. This is an onsite position at the facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Requirements

  • Sound mechanical background to understand the theory of operation for all equipment
  • Knowledge of basic hand/power tools
  • Knowledge of Planned Maintenance and Maintenance Work cycle
  • Knowledge and skill in pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, piping, and power transmission
  • Basic knowledge of welding, machining, and electrical
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical School education
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance or related experience
  • Knowledge of Plant safety, GMP's, confined spaces
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • LOTO/PIT certified

Responsibilities

  • Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime
  • Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
  • Complete work/purchase requests
  • Move up to 75 lbs.
  • Perform teardowns/set-ups of assigned equipment including completion of startup checklist
  • Perform Planned Maintenance (PM) on assigned equipment
  • Complete assigned corrective/maintenance work orders
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
  • Perform code verifications on individual/masters
  • Complete parts replacement (e.g., motor, gearboxes, hoses, and pins)
  • Participate in production line drumbeats
  • Make minor line adjustments
  • Complete required reports (e.g., PM, Work Orders, Centerline) and parts requisitions
  • Train others in best practices
