About The Position

This is a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic position. The individual will perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. A Fully Qualified Line Mechanic position requires at least one year of experience. A line mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. This includes working aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad mounted structures. Must have the ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman's climbers; and the ability to direct the work of others when assigned are required. The selected candidate must be qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV is a requirement. The individual will be required, during periods of trouble call assignment, to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least one year of experience as a line mechanic.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record preferred.
  • Physically able to perform the essential duties of the Line Mechanic position.
  • Ability to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of co-workers.
  • Available to perform overtime and emergency work as required.
  • Live within one hour of the reporting location.

Benefits

  • Starting salary of $53.09 per hour, progressing in accordance with the union contract.
  • Effective 6/1/25, starting salary will be $54.68 per hour.
