About The Position

Gulfport (O&M) H2O Innovation is a leading company in water and wastewater treatment, specializing in innovative water technologies, services, specialty products, and contract operations. We are seeking a skilled Line Locator. The main responsibilities of the candidate will be to locate underground water & wastewater lines within the system to prevent damage from excavation work performed around the lines.

Requirements

• Valid Mississippi drivers license.
• 2 years of experience locating or working with underground utility lines.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions associated with the equipment.
• Ability to walk long distances outdoors daily and lift charges of over 40 lbs.
• Ability to understand maps and engineering prints.
• Ability to open sewer manhole lids using tools such as pry bars and lifting hooks.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with directional horizontal drilling/boring is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Locating water & sewer lines within the system.
• Working closely with other utility companies and contractors to prevent damages to underground utilities.
• Monitoring all location requests and completing requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintaining and safeguarding equipment to keep it in operational condition.
