Job Title: Line Lead - Automation (1st shift) Location: Watertown, SD (works on-site) As a Line Lead at Spartronics, you will provide daily supervision of employees engaged in the manufacturing of Spartronics products. You will coordinate the activities within the manufacturing environment to ensure that delivery, cost, and quality goals are met and/or exceeded. While supporting continuous improvement activities within manufacturing and be the employee’s main point of contact for Post Wave on second shift.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in related field preferred but not required.
  • Two years' experience leading others preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, motivate, and train employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite of programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point and familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct oversight of manufacturing employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and adjusts work priorities to meet daily, weekly, monthly customer sales order requirements. Executes and supports daily plan for product flow set by Production Supervisor.
  • Monitors employee job performance such as attendance, quality, and productivity. Reports productivity using Manufacturing software.
  • Ensures that all manufacturing employees are properly trained and cross-trained as required.
  • Prepares and leads regular meetings to ensure up to date communication with employees on a daily basis.
  • Provides input to Production Supervisor on hiring decisions. May conduct interviews with potential candidates.
  • Identifies and pursues resolution of issues impacting product quality and ensure regulatory requirements for product quality are adhered to.
  • Encourages, provides suggestions and participates in continuous improvement activities such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Ensures that all processes and procedures are performed per written work instructions. Monitor quality of product and escalate problems to Production Supervisor as needed.
  • May interact with support functions such as quality, engineering, materials, and production control.
  • Other duties as it pertains to the scope of this position.
  • Safety: Ensure all assignments are performed in compliance with applicable Federal, State and company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.
