This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces, and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. The Line Coordinator is primarily responsible for assisting with production activities, developing schedules, allocating resources, and ensuring a safe work environment. Specifics include: Assist with production activities, including assembly, material processing, packaging, and quality inspections, to meet schedules and specifications Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and other departments to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources Supervise work areas and key metrics (e.g., DBH, WIP, OEE, outputs) for performance tracking, reporting, and issue escalation Lead or participate in quality investigations and continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma efforts Support daily equipment maintenance, planned PMOs, downtime recovery, and troubleshooting production or quality issues as needed Ensure compliance with GxP regulations and SOPs by maintaining accurate documentation and completing required training Act as the first point of contact on the floor for manufacturing-related issues (technical, operational, or quality), providing immediate corrections and raising concerns when vital Provide on-the-floor leadership, mentor, and training to production technicians; supervise job rotations, performance, and adherence to procedures Facilitate shift handoffs with consistent communication and ensure readiness for next shift through area walkthroughs and board updates Handle and support prioritization per supervisor direction and production plan; supervise equipment downtime and issue protocols Ensure a safe, clean, and audit-ready work environment by maintaining housekeeping standards and participating in daily safety reviews Track and report key performance indicators and initiate deviations or corrective actions where non-compliance or trends are identified Encourage a positive work culture, foster team collaboration, and lead by example through proactive behavior and effective problem-solving Support training oversight, including cross-training, up-to-date compliance records, and onboarding for new processes or equipment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience
