About The Position

The Line Cook at Beachcombers Tiki Hut is responsible for preparing high-quality and delicious island themed meals in a timely manner for hotel guests and patrons of our on-site restaurant. This is a part-time and hourly position within the hospitality/restaurant industry, located in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. As an individual contributor, the Line Cook will work alongside a team of culinary professionals to provide exceptional service and uphold the high standards of Ramada Plaza. Compensation & Benefits: This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 to $20 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition, all employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, paid time off and 401(k) retirement savings options.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Line Cook in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required food handling and/or alcohol service certifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items in accordance with recipes, quality and portion control standards set by the hotel and restaurant
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper temperature control and cleanliness of work area
  • Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate production of meals
  • Maintain knowledge of current menu items
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks given by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • Communicate any supply or equipment shortages to management and assist in ordering as needed
  • Assist with the set-up, breakdown, and cleaning of workstations, as well as overall kitchen cleanliness
  • Handle and store food items properly, including rotation and labeling
  • Assist with inventory management and control of food costs
  • Adhere to all safety and company policies and procedures
