About The Position

Overview The Line Cook is an essential member of the kitchen team who prepares dishes by following established recipes and cooking guidelines provided by the onsite Food and Beverage leadership and repeatedly producing correctly plated menu items in the established time frames for each. This role involves following recipes, adhering to food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Line Cook provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 6 months to 1-year culinary cooking experience in full-service restaurant
  • Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures
  • Continuing education will be offered and administered as needed.
  • Ability to follow direction and repeat working actions consistently.
  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and follow directions from supervisors
  • Ability to work fast, effectively and stay focused under pressure
  • High attention to detail to ensure all dishes, utensils, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Consistently showing up on time and ready to perform all duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu using our proven recipes
  • Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen
  • Work with food and beverage team members to maintain rigid cleaning and organization standards.
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant
  • Design new menu choices based on seasonal ingredients and customer demand
