About The Position

Perky Beans Cafe in Leander, TX is looking to hire a Part-Time Line Cook to join their team. This detail-oriented role involves using various cooking methods to prepare menu items in a timely manner, following cafe recipes and instructions. This position earns a competitive wage of $19-$21/hour. The cafe provides fantastic perks, including weekly pay, opportunities for advancement, free coffee drinks, and a discounted meal each shift. While primarily known as a breakfast/brunch restaurant, the cafe recently expanded its hours and menu to include dinner service, and now has shifts available from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort.
Understanding of cooking methods, procedures, and knife handling skills.
Ability to read and follow cooking directions.
Able to multi-task and work on more than one order at a time.
Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
Able to remain on their feet for several hours straight.
Able to carry at least 35 pounds easily.
Professional Cooking: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Use various cooking methods to prepare orders to specified recipes and standards.
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
Perform portion control and minimize waste.
Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
Clean up station and label, date, and cover leftover food.
Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the chef.
Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
