About The Position

The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is seeking a creative and skilled Line Cook to join its fun-spirited team! The 250+ room hotel, with nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space, is conveniently located for business and leisure travelers. Our property is just a short drive from the world-famous Mall of America. Some of our features include a full-service modern American Restaurant concept, featuring creatively crafted interpretations of Food and Beverage made with a Minnesota twist. Other amenities include our indoor heated junior Olympic-sized pool, whirlpool, 24-hour fitness center, and a recent property remodel featuring a local Minnesotan theme. As a Line Cook, you will be an essential part of our Food and Beverage Culinary team, delivering exceptional Guest Services by preparing food with meticulous attention to detail at the hotel. Your role will ensure guest satisfaction by supporting our chefs with precise ingredient preparation, helping create visually appealing, delicious culinary experiences that guests will cherish and remember.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • A minimum of 1 year of cooking experience in a hotel is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience in a similar role, and the size of the operation required.
  • Food Handlers Certification preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull heavy loads weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform duties in confined spaces, within extreme temperature ranges, and work the entire shift standing and moving about in the kitchen area.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to grasp and use all kitchen equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Culinary or Apprenticeship Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Equip assigned workstations with essential products and culinary equipment to ensure efficient production and exceptional service.
  • Complete all prep work efficiently for soups, sauces, salads, and various ingredients.
  • Ensures meticulous product storage and precise portion control for each dish.
  • Minimizes spoilage and waste through effective product rotation.
  • Monitors food, produce, and cooking supply levels to facilitate timely reordering.
  • Maintains impeccable cleanliness and ensures functionality of refrigeration, storage, and work areas.
  • Assist with dishwashing and other stewarding duties assigned.
