About The Position

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items according to restaurant standards. This role requires speed, consistency, teamwork, and attention to food safety to ensure high-quality meals are delivered in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred (entry-level accepted)
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Team-oriented with good communication
  • Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
  • Food Handler’s Certification (preferred or required by local law)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Lift up to 40–50 lbs
  • Work in hot, noisy, and fast-paced environments
  • Perform repetitive motions (cutting, stirring, lifting)
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Food Handler’s Certification (preferred or required by local law)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and portion standards
  • Set up and stock station with necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and freshness
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstation and kitchen equipment
  • Coordinate with other kitchen staff during service
  • Assist with food prep, chopping, marinating, and batching
  • Monitor food inventory and report shortages
  • Minimize waste and control food costs
  • Comply with health department regulations and company policies
