About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Line Cook to join our growing team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. We are a breakfast-only restaurant: early mornings required, no evenings. Early mornings are required (6:30 AM) & weekend availability is expected. The Original Pancake House is open 7 days/week from 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas Day. We offer company health insurance available, 401K, paid sick leave. Entry level line cooks start at $16.50 per hour. Experienced line cooks can make up to $21 per hour. All BOH employees earn tips. Tips average $1-4 per hour, paid weekly on Friday. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of previous experience as a restaurant cook required, preferably as a kitchen manager or lead line cook.
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food handling practices.
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes.
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
  • Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
