About The Position
Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services. We seek to help our residents age in place as we strive toward our mission to "honor God by serving others with love and compassion." We're looking for responsible, friendly, and service-oriented individuals to join our kitchen team in preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our seniors. We have two kitchens to serve our community, with some food service staff shared between the two. This position will be primarily at our Oasis care center serving our residents in Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. Low-volume service (under 50 meals per service) allows the attention to detail that is critical for meeting residents' dietary needs and restrictions. We welcome all applicants who can work well independently and as part of a team, display professionalism and culinary knowledge, and take pride in excellent service.
Requirements
- Prior professional cooking experience is required
- Available to work on holidays
- Have a positive attitude and service-minded approach
- Able to pass a fingerprinted criminal background check (Livescan)
- Able to pass a health screening, TB test, and drug test
- Able to lift at least 40 lbs. and work on your feet
- Able to bend, stretch, pull, push, etc. as needed for cooking tasks
- Be punctual and have reliable attendance
