About The Position

Stout’s Island Lodge is a beautiful, upscale lakeside resort located in the heart of the picturesque Birchwood, Wisconsin. Known for our breathtaking views and exceptional guest experience, we offer a one-of-a-kind culinary experience featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative dishes. We are seeking a passionate and skilled line cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. Position Summary: The Line Cook will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to prepare and execute menu items to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, an eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking skills.
  • A passion for culinary arts and high-quality food production.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, according to Stout’s Island Lodge recipes and standards.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in every dish, paying close attention to presentation and portion control.
  • Work efficiently in a team environment to meet service timelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and ensure proper handling and storage of food items.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring inventory is stocked and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Handle food prep and assist with menu item development as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Assist with special events, catering, or private parties as needed.
  • Clean cooking equipment, utensils, and kitchen areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
