About The Position

As a Line Cook, you will prepare and cook menu items in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while ensuring quality and consistency. Pelican Pete’s is a well-loved tiki-style restaurant on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA. At Pelican Pete’s, we’re all about having a good time. As Lake Lanier’s only floating tiki bar and restaurant, we offer a one-of-a-kind waterfront experience featuring unbeatable lake views, live music, and some of the best food and drinks on the lake. Centered around good food, good drinks, and good times, Pelican Pete’s continues to be a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proper documentation.
  • Graduate of a culinary institute, military culinary program, or formal on-the-job training preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of food preparation experience required.
  • Experience with high-volume or quantity food preparation preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong cooking skills and follow established menus and recipes accurately.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, reach overhead, and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
  • Always maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation before dishes leave the kitchen.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely service.
