About The Position

We are looking for knowledgeable, passionate candidates to join the kitchen. Ideal culinarian must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, a strong work ethic and experience in a casual but high-quality restaurant with impeccable ingredients. Applicant must have a positive attitude and flexibility. JOB OVERVIEW: Preps their station as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, following lists and standards Learns and maintains all knowledge of food preparation for each menu item Follows all BOH procedures as related to their station Maintains all sanitation procedures as related to overall kitchen conduct

Requirements

  • Minimum two years cooking experience in a fine dining environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Provide all knives required for daily work.
  • 1+ years of experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for creative comfort food and familiarity with bar classics a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of all menu items in the restaurant, banquets, private parties
  • Ensures a quality product is delivered at all times
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.
  • Set mis en place for dishes in all stations of kitchens.
  • Ability to read recipes, check food presentations and displays with precision.
  • Check the quality of the product to ensure the standards for food service are maintained.
  • Show precision cuts and knife use.
  • Demonstrate ability to cook meat, fish and vegetables with the correct method and temperature.
  • Ensure the correct rotation and storage of products for quality selection.
  • Maintain required food handlers certification and follows all federal, state and local sanitation codes
  • Sustain and maintain a clean sanitary station.
  • Follow directions from Executive Chef and Sous Chef with accuracy.
  • Communicate any defects in kitchen equipment to Sous Chef.
  • In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager
  • Lifts and carries boxes to and from the cooler
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and lifting
  • Walks and stands during majority of shift
  • Handles mild chemical cleaners
