About The Position

We are seeking a talented and experienced Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers in Glendale. As the Line Cook, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, coordinating food preparation activities, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to maintaining the quality and consistency of our menu offerings.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices, including proper storage, handling, and hygiene procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure food is prepared accurately, presentation standards are met, and orders are complete.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots and pans, and withstand high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the restaurant industry.
  • Formal culinary education or relevant certifications are a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification.
  • Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant POS - Aloha, Hot Schedule, Paylocity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring the highest quality and consistency.
  • Set up and stock your assigned station with all necessary supplies and ingredients before each shift.
  • Utilize various cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, frying, broiling, and baking to prepare menu items.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the menu, including ingredients, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Adhere to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of food orders to meet guest expectations and reduce wait times.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and maintain smooth operations during service.
  • Inspect food items for quality and freshness, and promptly address any issues or discrepancies with the kitchen management.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report any shortages or items in need of replenishment to the kitchen management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
