About The Position

The Line Chef at Hilton Garden Inn Pittsford is responsible for preparing and cooking food orders to ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong time management skills and a passion for food, who can work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
  • Previous experience working in food service is preferred.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and has high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established storage and waste control standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to ensure quality food is served.
  • Interact with visitors, vendors, and associates while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
  • Prepare food orders on the line by cooking items to order, grilling, broiling, sautéing, and meeting all presentation guidelines and following standard recipes.
  • Clean and sanitize all workstations, including counters, utensils, cooking equipment, and the refrigerator, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Set up cooking stations and fill them with all of the essential preparation items for a shift.
