About The Position

The position involves working at Collins Aerospace in Rockford, IL, focusing on the inspection of aerospace products. Requirements

• High School Diploma or 2 years of relevant experience in the absence of a diploma or GED.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for access to information under this program/contract.
• Substantial training or experience in manufacturing and inspection methods.
• Good knowledge of shop mathematics including geometric tolerance.
• Ability to improvise set-ups and check work where standard gauging is not available.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with product inspection.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, and shadowgraph.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics including geometric tolerance.
• Ability to perform data entry operations and operate CMMs with minimum assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection on incoming hardware for overhaul, repair, or modification.
• Make CMM programs to meet engineering changes and revision requirements.
• Write programs for CMMs and outline areas.
• Perform set-up and operate all CMMs (excluding PML).
• Assist in preparation and presentation of parts to customers in the customer buy-off area.
• Maintain files for packing slips and test data in receiving inspection.
• Conduct random audits of manufacturing processes, products, and certified operators.
• Assist operators with gauging set-up and first piece inspection.
• Perform outline/final and FAI inspections and complete documentation.
• Write non-conformance tags for rejects and perform preliminary review disposition of hardware rejects.
