As a Limitorque Service Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing various automated valve packages, with a primary focus on Limitorque electric actuators. This role involves both in-location work at Ferguson VAC and field service, including installation, startup, commissioning, inspection, repair, and support of Limitorque actuators and related valve automation equipment. The technician must work safely with industrial electrical systems, interpret technical documents, and adhere to all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in electric actuation, valve automation, or related service/repair work
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid state issued license is required
  • Experience with electric actuator wiring, setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Working safely with industrial electrical systems, including live 240V and 480V
  • Ability to read and understand customer technical data, wiring diagrams, schematics, and actuator documentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in both shop and field environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel for field service work and factory product training
  • Pre-employment drug and background screening required
  • Strong communication, time management, organizational skills, ability to multi-task, manage priorities, meet order and service deadlines, goal-oriented, self-motivated and able to build relationships while working in a team environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new products, procedures, and customer requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Limitorque actuators, MOVs, or other electric actuator platforms strongly preferred
  • Experience with both quarter-turn and linear valve/actuator applications preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge and Smartsheets experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of automated valve packages, with a primary focus on Limitorque electric actuators
  • Perform Limitorque actuator setup, calibration, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair at Ferguson VAC location
  • Perform field service work including installation, startup, commissioning, inspection, repair, and support of Limitorque actuators and related valve automation equipment
  • Work safely with and around live industrial electrical systems, including 240V and 480V, on a daily basis
  • Read and interpret customer specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, actuator manuals, and technical documents
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures for valve automation, including maintaining a safe and organized workspace and observing necessary safety precautions during assembly, testing, storage, and transfer of product
  • Interact professionally and courteously with inside sales, outside sales, management, warehouse personnel, and customers when addressing technical questions and service needs
  • Assist in supporting technical training related to valve automation and Limitorque/MOV products
  • Travel out of town as needed for field service, customer support, and factory product training
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs.
