About The Position

The individual will provide specialized support for two separate funded research projects. This includes tracking and troubleshooting participant incentives, creating R scripts for geocoding, and independently using R software to impute data files. This position is grant-funded and is expected to continue through 2029 (five years from the project's start date in 2024). Extension beyond this period is contingent upon the availability of continued funding.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of R
  • Deep knowledge of advanced statistical methodology, including the ability to make independent decisions regarding when to implement specific strategies.
  • Ability to independently impute data using PcAux in R, including making decisions regarding the type of imputation needed based on data characteristics
  • Independently evaluating the quality of the imputation and making decisions on how to adjust the imputation process accordingly
  • Ability to independently evaluate data requests from collaborators and create data sets from available data files. Ability to assess independently the integrity of data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform data imputation using PcAux in R, selecting appropriate imputation methods based on the structure and quality of the data.
  • Evaluate missing data patterns and determine the best statistical strategies to address them.
  • Assess the integrity of raw data sets and prepare them for imputation.
  • Review and validate the quality of imputed data, making adjustments as needed to improve accuracy and reliability.
  • Respond to collaborator requests for imputed data files, ensuring datasets meet research standards and are tailored to specific project needs.
  • Maintain documentation of imputation procedures and decisions for transparency and reproducibility.
  • Monitor the distribution and redemption of participant incentives across multiple research projects.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to incentive delivery, such as incorrect contact information, delays, or technical errors.
  • Communicate with participants and project staff to ensure smooth processing of incentives.
  • Maintain accurate records of incentive transactions and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators to refine incentive tracking systems and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain R scripts for geocoding participant addresses or other location-based data.
  • Ensure scripts are optimized for accuracy and efficiency, using appropriate APIs or geocoding packages.
  • Provide support to team members in implementing and adapting the geocoding script for project-specific needs.
  • Document the script and its usage for future reference and reproducibility.
