About The Position

Agilix Solutions is seeking an experienced Lighting Specialist within our Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. This position will cover a territory from St. Louis to Kansas City. The right professional will be able to manage and drive new business within the Commercial, Industrial, and Electrical contractor markets. In conjunction with participating lighting manufacturers, the ideal candidate will have a command for lighting in all areas of LED lamps, drives and LED light fixtures for indoor and outdoor applications. The chosen candidate will act as a Product Specialist with the existing sales team along with generating their own leads and business. This lighting professional will be the "go-to" person that clientele (and co-workers) will look towards for expertise and knowledge of all lighting product lines. Responsibilities will include understanding our manufacturers, their newest technology, and competitive pricing for like products. Educating customers and internal teams will also be key components of this position. Close relations with lighting vendors will be required to maintain new product information companywide. This position reports and communicates directly with the Director of the Project Solutions Group.

Requirements

  • Extensive lighting product knowledge
  • Minimum of 4 years of Lighting/Energy Sales Experience
  • Previous experience driving new business sales
  • Strong vendor relationships
  • Prompt, courteous, and problem-solving
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent in experience

Responsibilities

  • Construction-based Contractors: Electrical contractors will be targeted in a support role for the current Agilix Solutions account manager. Responsibilities will include coordinating energy saving projects as well as communicating new product/technology issues regularly.
  • Industrial-based Contractors: Coordination with key industrial opportunities and selected electrical contractors to secure turnkey business will be a key component of securing industrial lighting upgrades.
  • Vendor Support/Coordination: Coordination of targeted vendors will be managed by the lighting specialist. These duties will include product knowledge from targeted and non-targeted vendors to provide optimal solutions for customer applications enabling a complete solution regardless of specific vendor offerings. Coordination of inventory by product category will also be managed by the lighting specialist.
  • Industrial/Commercial Retrofit: Industrial energy saving retrofits will be managed by the lighting specialist. Establishing the manufacturer specification and driving compliance will be key in this role. Closing orders and engaging electrical contractors as required providing turnkey solutions will also be required. Maintaining some direct responsibility for commercial accounts may also be required.
