About The Position

The Lighting Programming and Commissioning Technician is responsible for overseeing the success of individual lighting projects by ensuring the lighting system is fully functional, safe, and aligned with design intent before use. Primary responsibilities include project lighting system programming and system setup including networking configurations. As well as in-shop or onsite lighting equipment support, system testing, and vetting. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

At least three (3) years field installation experience OR At least three (3) years lighting programming, configuration and commissioning experience
Advanced knowledge of ETC, Color Kinetic control Systems
Strong understanding of control protocols such as DMX, sACN, ArtNet, RDM, and other protocols.
Knowledge of electrical systems and safety
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Work at heights on ladders, lifts and stage grids
Physical ability to walk, crawl and work in difficult positions and areas

Responsibilities

Understand the overall expectations, timeline, and scope of work of lighting projects
Read and interpret CSI and architectural and engineering drawings
Learn and apply CSI lighting installation and technical standards
Program lighting control systems, consoles, and devices to meet creative and technical specifications.
Configure and test lighting systems to ensure seamless operation and high-quality output.
Assist in lighting system design, including control layouts, patching, cue structures, and protocol planning
Configure lighting IT networks when needed for installed lighting systems
Submit required End of Day update reports to the appropriate management team
Perform troubleshooting and service for installed lighting systems
Train end users on installed lighting systems
Provide customer service with end-users while on job sites and link them with CSI sales or engineering when necessary
Document technical changes or modifications to any installed lighting system
Provide product related support and guidance as needed
