The Lighting Field Engineering Technician (“LFET”) supports Tampa Electric Company’s (“TEC”) lighting and distribution system design, construction, and maintenance projects. Utilizing standard company specifications and materials, LFET’s design the most electrically efficient and cost-effective outdoor lighting systems for new and existing residential and commercial customers. These designs are not limited to lighting, as they typically will also include the expansion, replacement, relocation, and maintenance of existing distribution systems required to serve the outdoor lighting system. The LFET serves as the main point of contact to customers, governmental agencies, TEC departments and contractors, while overseeing construction and verifying that customer requirements are met throughout the project. The LFET processes work requests in TEC’s work management system (“WorkPro”), determines customer requirements, completes designs in TEC’s designing program (“Visual”) and distribution map maintenance in TEC’s geographical interface system (“GIS”), calculates estimates (“Tool Kit”) and wind loads (“Pole Foreman”), obtains necessary work permits and coordinates activities with TEC departments and contractors to ensure in the successful scheduling and completion of projects.
