About The Position

Mazzetti’s Lighting Design Studio is seeking a Lighting Designer who is eager to learn and grow while contributing to innovative projects. In this role, you’ll support the team with lighting calculations, energy analysis, drawings, specifications, renderings, and presentation materials, while gaining exposure to sustainable design and LEED efforts. You’ll collaborate with other disciplines, assist with project coordination, and have opportunities to learn through limited construction-phase support. This role is ideal for someone motivated, detail-oriented, and excited to build a strong foundation in lighting design with mentorship and support from experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design, or related field
  • 2-8 years of experience in the lighting design industry
  • 2+ years of experience with Revit, CAD, and/or other BIM program drafting/drawing production experience
  • 2+ years of experience in photometric modeling using AGI32, LightStanza, and Dialux (or similar)
  • Passionate about innovative and creating lighting design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized, self-starter and independent work ethic
  • Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient design

Nice To Haves

  • Previous A/E/C building design industry experience
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with daylighting analysis tools such as Rhino-Grasshopper or Lightstanza
  • Ability to obtain membership in a professional lighting design organization (e.g., IES or IALD)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with lighting design, including calculations and energy analysis
  • Preparing project lighting drawings and specifications
  • Creating renderings and presentation materials
  • Coordinating work within the Mazzetti team and with other disciplines
  • Supporting sustainability and LEED efforts across projects
  • Participating in limited contract administration during construction phases
  • Effectively managing your tasks, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Contributing to a diverse range of projects, including healthcare, hospitality, civic, commercial, and residential designs
  • Implementing sustainable lighting design in all projects
