Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior or Theatre Design.
  • Fundamental knowledge of lighting design, lighting sources, fixtures, lighting controls, computer-generated lighting calculations, and photometry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, Revit, and AGI.

  • Experience in combining personal judgment with a wide variety of data and information to perform and evaluate system calculations and design options.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, including carrying out appropriate follow-through with others, delegating work, and giving and receiving constructive feedback.

  • Desire to continue the learning process by attending in-house seminars and continuing education opportunities outside the office.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and documentation process alongside senior designers.
  • Document lighting plans in CAD or Revit.
  • Test lighting concepts/layouts in AGI.
  • Research fixtures by phone, catalog, or internet.
  • Put together cut sheet packages using InDesign.
  • Assist with lighting power density calculations.
  • Create and/or attend mockups.
