The Light Mechanical Assembler position at Imperial Electronic Assembly, Inc. involves assembling, reworking, and repairing electro-mechanical assemblies according to customer specifications. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to quality standards to ensure that products meet customer requirements before shipment.

  • Assemble, rework, and repair electro-mechanical assemblies using crimping and screwing techniques.
  • Follow traveler, customer-supplied documentation, or instructions from supervisor for direction.
  • Check work periodically and upon completion to ensure accuracy, sending products for inspection prior to shipment.
  • Participate in departmental goals by performing job requirements with high accuracy.
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer product requirements are met.
  • Comply with the Company’s Quality System during job duties.
  • Participate in internal and external Quality System audits as needed.
  • Make process improvement recommendations as appropriate.
  • Communicate equipment maintenance needs to the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Group Leader.
  • Maintain an organized and neat work area.
  • Assemble cable bundles and kits using drawings and measuring devices.
  • Minimum one year experience as an Assembler or related work in an electronic contract manufacturing organization or related industry.
  • Preferred three years experience as an Assembler or related experience in an electronic contract manufacturing organization or related industry.
  • Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school.
  • Ability to read schematics and electronic assembly drawings.
  • Ability to differentiate electronic components and parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer requirements from various formats.
  • Understanding of cable and harness assembly methods after instruction.
  • Excellent cable and harness assembly techniques.
  • Excellent crimping techniques.
  • IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated effective analysis and corrective action implementation techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English as it relates to performing job requirements.
  • IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certification
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
