Light Equipment Operator
About The Position
Full-time or part-time hours are available and schedule flexibility! This role is responsible for the inspection and grading of inbound materials, ensuring efficient traffic flow within the yard, and coordinating with crane operators to maintain operational productivity. Assists in the recycling process by operating a variety of equipment including forklift, skid loader, end loader, backhoe and excavator. This role serves as the primary point of contact for incoming drivers and customers and is expected to represent the company with professionalism and a commitment to service excellence.
Requirements

- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential.
Nice To Haves
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and prior experience in metals or industrial operations is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Inspect inbound loads for compliance and accurate grading.
- Deliver courteous and professional experience to all drivers and customers.
- Collaborate with crane and loader operators to ensure efficient traffic flow.
- Conduct inspections for non-conforming items (e.g., mercury switches, ballasts).
- Loads, unloads and sorts of material.
- Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently wear required PPE.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
