About The Position

The Lift Valet, also known as a parking lift operator, is responsible for operating a car lift or elevator system in a parking garage or multi-story building.

Requirements

  • Maintain uniform standards when on job premises
  • Ability to run and move quickly
  • Ability to organize cars efficiently
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and pass a driving test on a manual transmission vehicle
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License in the state of residency
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check and RMV check
  • Ability to create relationships with customers
  • Be organized
  • Clean driving record deemed insurable by VPNE’s current insurance provider
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating lift (preferred)
  • Supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Lift valets must be welcoming and friendly, greeting customers as they arrive and providing them with any necessary instructions for parking.
  • Parking vehicles: Lift valets are responsible for parking customer vehicles in designated parking spots on different parking garage levels using the car lift.
  • A lift valet must safely operate the car lift or elevator system, including positioning vehicles onto the lift, using the lift, and securing vehicles properly during transportation.
  • Lift valets must retrieve customer vehicles from the designated parking spots on different garage levels using the car lift and return them to customers promptly and efficiently.
  • Lift valets must follow safety standards and protocols to operate the car lift safely and securely. Ensuring the lift is sufficiently maintained, safety equipment is in place, and all safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Lift valets are responsible for keeping records of parked vehicles, including the location of the parking spot, the time the vehicle is parked, and the time it’s retrieved.
  • A lift valet must be able to assist customers with any questions or complaints related to parking, such as lost vehicles, damaged vehicles, or billing issues.
  • Lift valets may also be responsible for maintaining it, including keeping it clean, organized, and debris-free.
