About The Position
As the Lift Operator at Vail Resorts, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our ski lifts, which are essential for providing an exceptional experience for our guests. This position is not just about operating machinery; it is about being a copilot and concierge for our guests as they navigate the beautiful mountain terrain. You will be responsible for monitoring the safety of passengers, providing clear instructions, and ensuring a friendly atmosphere as guests load and unload from the lifts. Your role will involve managing the speed of the lift to optimize chair capacity and proactively communicating with maintenance teams regarding any repair or maintenance needs. In addition to operating the lift, you will be tasked with implementing emergency procedures when necessary, ensuring that the lift is ready for operations, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position requires you to be physically capable of assisting guests, which may involve lifting up to 40 lbs and standing outside in varying weather conditions for extended periods. You will also need to be adaptable, as you may be required to perform alternate functions during peak periods, such as holiday weekends.
