About The Position

The Lift Operations position at Echo Mountain involves assisting in the safe, efficient, and courteous loading, seating, and unloading of guests on ski lifts. The role requires maintaining the lift station area and ensuring safe walking surfaces, as well as scanning tickets or verifying that guests have the proper lift access credentials. Safety is a priority, and the operator must be prepared to stop or slow the lift for safety or emergency purposes. Daily pre-operational checks and inspections are part of the job, along with responding to and reporting emergencies. Operators will monitor and maintain the operation of the lifts in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, participate in preventive maintenance programs, and assist in resort maintenance activities. The position also involves ensuring that management is informed of any unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions, and maintaining records related to mechanical and operational procedures. Cleanliness of on-mountain facilities, including restrooms, is also a responsibility. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School or GED
  • Previous experience in ski lift operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Stop or slow the lift for safety / emergency purposes
  • Perform daily pre-operational checks and inspections
  • Respond to and report emergencies
  • Monitor and maintain the operation of the lifts in accordance with applicable rules and regulations
  • Participate in summer and winter preventive maintenance programs
  • Participate in resort maintenance activities
  • Ensure management is immediately informed on all unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions
  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date
  • Maintain padding, fencing and signs on trails and race areas
  • Responsible for cleanliness of on-mountain facilities including restrooms
  • Other duties as assigned
