About The Position

Three 12 Hour Shifts, Indianapolis, IN Responsible for the care, transport, and treatment of ill/injured patients in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Responsible for relaying and receiving information regarding the patient and patient condition. Responsible for complying with all regulatory requirements, departmental policy and practice, safety policies and practice, hospital policies, and operating within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana. Must possess the required knowledge and skills to appropriately care for and manage neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients. May be required to drive ambulance to and from referral hospital. May be required to transport patients. May be required to obtain consents and authorizations form patient or legal guardians. May be required to record time of ambulance run. May be required to process billing and daily reports. May treat patients aboard an aircraft. A valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record report may be required for this role. Consideration of employment for this role may be contingent upon the results of the Motor Vehicle Record report.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Indiana Paramedic license required.
  • Ability to obtain surrounding state license within 6 months of hire (Illinois).
  • Certified Flight Paramedic advanced certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • Trauma Certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire, including ITLS or PHTLS.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
  • Valid Driver's License in the State of Indiana with no more than 6 accrued points.
  • Minimum of 3 years ALS Paramedic experience is required.
  • Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment.
