About The Position

Responsible for the care, transport, and treatment of ill/injured patients in both emergency and non-emergency situations. This role involves relaying and receiving information regarding the patient and their condition. The Paramedic must comply with all regulatory requirements, departmental policy and practice, safety policies and practice, hospital policies, and operate within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana. The position requires the knowledge and skills to appropriately care for and manage neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients. The role may also involve driving an ambulance, transporting patients, obtaining consents and authorizations, recording ambulance run times, processing billing and daily reports, and treating patients aboard an aircraft.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Indiana Paramedic license
  • Ability to obtain surrounding state license within 6 months of hire (Illinois)
  • Certified Flight Paramedic advanced certification within 18 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency(s) within initial probationary period
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or its equivalency(s) within initial probationary period
  • Trauma Certification within 6 months of hire, including ITLS or PHTLS
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency within initial probationary period
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 within initial probationary period
  • Valid Driver's License in the State of Indiana with no more than 6 accrued points
  • Minimum of 3 years ALS Paramedic experience
  • Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment

  • Possess the required knowledge and skills to appropriately care for and manage neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients
  • Drive ambulance to and from referral hospital (if required)
  • Transport patients (if required)
  • Obtain consents and authorizations form patient or legal guardians (if required)
  • Record time of ambulance run (if required)
  • Process billing and daily reports (if required)
  • Treat patients aboard an aircraft (if required)
