About The Position

As a staff member at the Neptune Aquatic Center, a lifeguard is responsible for providing students, patrons and swimmers with a safe, clean, enjoyable and educational setting while responding to patrons needs as they relate to the use of the Aquatic Center. He or she will also be responsible for monitoring activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of age.
• Current certifications in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate.
• Ability to save lives and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations in and around the pool.
• Physical, visual, and auditory abilities to perform essential functions of the job.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, clean, enjoyable, and educational setting for students, patrons, and swimmers.
• Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents.
• Respond to patrons' needs related to the use of the Aquatic Center.
• Provide assistance to swimmers in emergency situations.
