This position will be responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies; enforcing all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations; inspecting the facility on a daily basis and reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor; completing records and reports; participating in regular inservice training sessions; and maintaining fitness levels (swimming skills, strength and endurance). Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. We are looking for lifeguards to guard our competition swimming pool year round during the hours of 6:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. This is a non benefit role. Shifts range from 2-5 hours and lifeguards typically get about 10-15 hours per week. Please note, we can offer lifeguard training to those that do not meet the minimum qualifications at Rolfs Aquatic Center. It will require a registration fee.

Requirements

  • Must possess current certification in the following: American Red Cross Lifeguarding; First Aid; American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques is a necessity.
  • Must possess leadership, public relations and decision making skills as well as an understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification

Responsibilities
