Requirements

  • Age is Just a Number: Must be at least 15 years old, so dive in no matter your age!
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is a must, and if you speak Spanish, it's a plus!
  • Flexible Hours: Be prepared to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts to fit your schedule.
  • Certifications: Obtain American Red Cross certifications for Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer before starting your employment.
  • Training: Don't have Lifeguard training? No problem! We offer training to get you certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching Potential: If you're interested in teaching, the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is required or can be achieved within six months.
  • Extra Mile: American Red Cross Oxygen Administration certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Enforce Kroc Center rules to create a safe haven for all. Keep a watchful eye, caution swimmers about unsafe behaviors, and maintain order in swimming areas.
  • Swift Rescuer: Analyze situations with quick thinking and take effective action to rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
  • Lifesaver: Administer first aid, rescue breathing, and CPR when needed, being a beacon of hope in critical moments.
  • Cleanliness Guru: Ensure the swimming pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms, and other assigned areas are pristine, making every visit enjoyable.
  • Record Keeper: Maintain records and reports as required, keeping our operations shipshape.
  • Team Player: Assist with swim lessons and collaborate with our aquatic programs, enhancing the overall experience for our community.
  • Continuous Improvement: Attend all in-service trainings to sharpen your skills and knowledge.
  • Effective Communicator: Communicate seamlessly with co-workers and customers, creating a friendly and informative atmosphere.
