Requirements

  • Must pass official Red Cross First Aid and lifesaving courses.
  • May be expected to pass certain local first aid and swimming requirements.
  • Must be an excellent swimmer with ample amount of physical strength.
  • Must have working knowledge of oxygen equipment and other lifesaving apparatus introduced in lifesaving courses.
  • All offers of employment are based upon satisfactory completion of background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years experience in a related position preferred, but not required.
  • High school diploma preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to the Lifeguard protocols in regard to continual scanning, lifeguard skills, and responding to emergencies, when on duty.
  • Providing CPR/AED, Spinal Injury Management, First Aid, and in-water rescues.
  • Responsible for opening and closing duties, safety checks, and performing first aid care as needed.
  • Washing and folding of all pool towels and keeping them stored in the appropriate areas during business hours.
  • Vacuum pool bottom, empty automatic robot cleaners, and skim surface to prepare pool for daily use.
  • Supervise and observe swimmers in the Club pool to assure their safety: maintain all Club pool rules as established by management.
  • Interact with, and assist, Members and Guests in any way possible.
  • Be proactive with ensuring all members needs are addressed.
  • May give swimming and diving lessons as instructed by Pool Manager.
  • Administer first aid to minor cuts and bruises of swimmers.
  • Report all incidences to manager for Incident Report documentation.
  • Help maintain cleanliness of showers, locker rooms, chairs, diving boards, pool deck, kids toys, junior room, pool, and pool office (Coordinate with Housekeeping staff).
  • May also give lessons before and after regular pool hours.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
