About The Position

Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager. Lifeguards are responsible for general supervision, safety, maintenance and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Lifeguard - American Red Cross (ARC) (Required)
  • First Aid - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
  • Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Lifeguard experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Has a neat professional appearance, with rescue tube properly placed, while maintaining proper surveillance of patrons and guests.
  • Greets members and guest when entering the pool area with a nod of acknowledgement when possible, using names when appropriate.
  • Works assigned shifts, or finds an appropriate substitute following all proper procedures and documentation.
  • Supervises and controls all activity in the pool area and on the patio so that a safe environment is maintained.
  • Responsible for monitoring and appropriately recording water quality, temperature and appropriate fill levels in pool and whirlpool.
  • Maintains clean environment, proper equipment storage and completes scheduled shift duties.
  • Ensures the pool is prepared in a timely manner prior to the start of scheduled activities.
