Job Summary: Under the immediate supervision of the Facility Manager and Beach Manager, the Beach Lifeguard is responsible for performing various duties to prepare the beach for the demands of patrons and assist with the daily beach operations. The Beach lifeguard is responsible for performing the responsibilities as outlined in this analysis. They work in groups of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8 lifeguards. They are a part-time employee working from 2 - 30 hours a week. Work shifts are variable, with an average 6-hour shift, but may be as long as 10 hours, with extended breaks within this period. Work is performed at a self-controlled pace but may vary depending on the job's demands. The Beach Lifeguard must participate in 15-30-minute daily training sessions to demonstrate knowledge or ability to perform work activities. This can be verbal or physical and covers all aspects of the described essential functions.
