About The Position

Monitors and warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies. Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years experience
  • Capable and proficient swimmer
  • Able to support someone (using safety equipment if necessary) in the water and bring them to safety.
  • Able to carry up to 50lbs
  • Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross)
  • CPR/AED Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Water Safety Instructor Certification (American Red Cross) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
  • Treat the pool and other water facilities with the correct amount of chemicals
  • Maintaining a clean and safe pool environment, addressing any risks such as excessive water on surrounding areas presenting a slip risk.
  • Opening, closing, maintenance and support of saunas, steam rooms, and jacuzzis as directed by management.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Aid the Facilities Managers in any way necessary in order to maintain proper pool operation
  • Identify & communicate any repair, replacement or upkeep needs including that of safety equipment.
  • Create a fun and socially rewarding environment for members and their guests.
  • Enforce pool policies, rules, and regulations in a personable and professional manner.
  • speak with swimmers to enforce swimming rules
  • Proactively seeking ways to positively impact the member experience and address member feedback
  • Passionate about safety and works proactively to find ways to improve safety and reduce risk in pool area.
  • Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift, including (but not limited to) safety issues around the pool like water and slip risks
  • Organizing and overseeing pool parties
  • keep track of each swimmer in the water
  • Act immediately and appropriately in the event of an emergency to avoid danger and risk to patrons and guests
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required. Perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid.
