About The Position

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, Beach Manager and Head Lifeguard, the Lifeguard provides supervision of water, beach, beach areas, and assists the Head Lifeguard in the operation of beach areas.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work most or up to the entire season.
• Ability to swim long/short distances rapidly.
• Must possess a valid Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certificate, Red Cross First Aid, and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Supervises swimming activities at the facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
• Always presents a professional appearance and positive attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Supervises and maintains the safe use of swimming, boating, and beach areas.
• Aids, performs, and directs necessary water rescue maneuvers and first aid.
• Performs beach, bathhouse, comfort station, and picnic shelter maintenance.
• Collects fees.
• Assists at other lakes/beaches as needed.
